A blessed wairua and gentle gracefulness embodies this lovely little green and white contemporary feather kahu which has a heavenly kaitiāki, guiding and protecting the bearer as its journey is intended. 
The ‘Rima’ design is brimming full of wairua and arōha. A specially designed cloak in that it is named after and to represent a beautiful lady who contributed a huge part of my childhood life, my beautiful late Great Aunty Rima Tutu Nehua. Thee most amazing and talented woman I’d ever known. She was a delight in every possible way. So full of love, a loving protector and nurturer, always smiling, she was an elegant and most sociable lady of her time.
The younger sister to my beautiful Nana Bibi. They were born in Whakapara, into Ngāti Hīne descent, and direct descendants of great Ngāpuhi Chiefs and Far North Royalty.
With an incredible musical abilities, Great Aunty Rima was blessed with a natural  talent, she enchanted many with as a gifted pianist, her deep penchant for jazz/soul/blues music and playing by ear fuelled her tap-dancing-fingers.
Her amazing piano skills were often likened too being on parr with, those such as, Ray Charles and Stevie Wonder! 
She was an independent gorgeous lady of her time, infectious smiles, laughter, joyousness, she always smelled like rose scented talcum powder and Nivea Crème (which made her glow like an angel). 
Great Aunty Rima was the best! 
The best and, completely blind! 
This was never a setback. It never deterred her from loving life, oozing confidence or feeling hard done by, it  only made her a stronger better version of herself! 
Babysitting us kids wasn’t a problem for her at all… she may have been 100% blind but…  she never missed a beat!
Her beautiful calming influence infused so much love, joy and soul-filled-goodness too my youngest childhood days. 
Such an incredibly inspirational wāhine toā and so befittingly named as the honorary kaitiaki of this very special blessed kahu. 
The feathers used are locally sourced from a reputable supplier, and of a high grade quality. 
The taniko pattern applied is the  ‘Patiki’ it represents the ‘Flounder’. It’s form is symbolic of an abundance of blessings by bestowing hospitable good fortune and prosperity. The band is woven from top quality NZ wool and also locally sourced. 
Fully Lined - All taonga are finished fully lined to embrace the wearer. 
All the taonga you find advertised here, can be made into any size, to fit any shape. 
No body is too big or too small! 
Choose too design yours with a different coloured taniko band, or change up the feather colours too suit your preference.
